This sci-fi adventure was brilliantly done and I just loved it. The story follows Mia, a young girl that hitches a ride to the planet Gaia to scavenge lost artifacts to bring back to Earth to sell to free her young, illegal due to population control, sister from a contact that binds her. The story also follows Jules, a young guy that also came to Gaia but to study the hieroglyphics to learn more about the aliens that lived there and to find out the most needed information to free his father from prison. Jules' father was the man who decoded the cryptic messages sent to Earth and warned the government of the apocalypse that would happen if they continued their missions there. Mia and Jules ban together to overcome lots of dangerous obstacles to get what they came for. I do not want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I highly recommend this book as well as the second in this duology.
