Better Than Perfect

Stars 3/5
Better Than Perfect by Simone Elkeles

I really enjoyed the story line for this book but an Aunt/Girlfriend? Not sure about all that LOL! This book follows Ashtyn, a high school girl that plays football as the kicker and of course she gets Team Captain over her boyfriend the quarterback. Then Derek, her sister's stepson, moves in and she notices that he is sexy. I don't want to go into this story more as to not spoil it but I have to say some of it was a little far fetched to believe but I do recommend it for a quick "kissy kissy" read.

UnWholly (Unwind #2)

Stars 4/5
UnWholly (Unwind #2) by Neal Shusterman

This is the second book in the Unwind series. The story continues to follow the characters as they hide away to protect themselves from becoming a live organ donor. The book also starts to follow Cam, a completely a product of unwinding and how he searches for his identity. A modern day Frankenstein. I do not want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but this series is very dark and definitely addresses the morals of humans. I highly recommend this book as well as the series.

Breadcrumbs

Stars 5/5
Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu

I really loved this book and all it's magic. The story follows Hazel and Jack who were best friends until one day a tiny shard of a magic mirror hit Jack in the eye and then everything changed. Anger Is A Gift

Stars 5/5
Anger Is A Gift by Mark Oshiro

Oh what a heart touching story! The author captures your attention and holds it through the whole book. The writing was done so very well. I loved it. The book follows a young boy named Moss who's father was murdered by police due to a horrible mishap when they went to the wrong store. Now, Moss is in high school and the school has started putting in place security instead of thinking about the student's educational needs. The school has started to treat the kids like criminals and that is when everything goes awry. I do not want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I must warn of graphic violence. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Sea Of Strangers

Stars 4/5
Sea Of Strangers by Lang Leav

I enjoyed this book of poetry. I do think that this book is for a younger audience than I but I enjoyed many of the poems. This book deals with love and love lost. Some are very touching. I do recommend this book to anyone who is going through the loss of a love relationship. Love the cover.

Memories

Stars 3/5
Memories by Lang Leav

It is very hard to rate a poetry book as it does or does not speak to you at any given time in your life. This book's poetry mostly deals with love lost via a relationship of intimacy. So as a single, by choice lifestyle that I live, it really doesn't touch me in ways it would others. I will say that I do not believe that you must of loved once or been in love to be able to write poetry as this book says. I did really love the cover.

What a very fun read. I really enjoyed this sweet story. It is one of those contemporaries that make you smile all through the book. It follows Winnie and her astrological predictions for her future.
