At The Edge Of The Universe

Stars 5/5
At The Edge Of The Universe by Shaun David Hutchinson

This story is about a boy named Ozzie that was in love with a boy named Tommy since they were in the 2nd grade. One day, Tommy vanishes from the world and no one remembers him but Ozzie. I don't want to go into too much about this book because I do not want to spoil it in anyway. Let me just say that you will be in the dark until the last few pages! Oh, how I loved not knowing and trying to guess, throughout the whole book, what the heck was going on. It made the story so worth reading! I really loved it. I loved "We are the Ants" by Shaun David Hutchinson so I knew I would love this book as well. I recommend it to everyone!

By Your Side

Stars 4/5
By Your Side by Kasie West

I have rewrote this review a few times trying to get my feelings across without spoiling the book so here it goes... The main character, Autumn, finds herself locked inside a library over the weekend with a boy from her school, Dax, that has a horrible reputation. Autumn was the stereotypical snobby, shallow and self absorbed high school girl. Dax was the quiet, reader guy that came from a dysfunctional family that everyone gossiped about. The story had a few twists and turns that I never saw coming and I enjoyed it as I do all of the Kasie West books I have read. I would recommend this book to everyone! Fun Read!

Goodbye Days

Stars 5/5
Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner
**SPOILER ALERT**
I have been waiting to read this book forever and finally I did! This book is full of emotion so make note of that before you sit and read it (hint - bring tissues). The different emotions in this story is gripping and even upsetting. I don't want to spoil the story but the adults and their behavior in this book made me so mad that I wanted to scream. The story is about a boy, Carver, that sends his friends a text message to find out where they were and as a result they were all killed in a car crash answering the text message and how the community and the families dealt with the ordeal. I love how the author included other characters in the story that went through deaths as a young boy and how they dealt with it because at the end of the book I felt ok. Like I knew how the rest of Carver's life would be. I would recommend this to everyone. I loved the story.

Betty Boop

Stars 5/5
Betty Boop by Roger Langridge and Gisele Lagace
(note - This review is for the entire collection that will be released May 16th 2017. This cover is only for the first edition story. No cover is released yet for the new full book)

I love Betty Boop and I was honored to be asked to review this graphic novel before it's release. First let me say, the illustrations are amazing. Keeping true to her look and style. I appreciated that so much! The story line was fun and also true to form as a vintage animation. The characters were all wonderful and I loved not only the main characters like Koko the clown, Grampy, Bimbo, Pudgy, Sally and Scat Skellington but also all the well illustrated ghosts, bugs and even the scene of Betty riding in the taxi. What a wonderful book. Loved the Bonus Materials at the end. I would recommend this to everyone!

Jane Eyre

Stars 5/5
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Every time I read this book, it makes me think of the similarities to Charlotte Bronte's life. All the tragedies, love, holding on to a family and just stumbling through life. This is a dark romance for me. I don't want to give away the story line too much but I feel like even when the good came about in the story it was always clouded with pain and a certain fogginess. I truly love this book and I must give it 5 stars because not only is it a true work of brilliant artistry but to know this story came out of the author's real life horrors. I would recommend this to everyone.
