The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker
This was an amazing book! I love stories that are about viral attacks and human survival. That is exactly what this story is about. It all begins in a small university town. One girl stumbles to bed and can not wake. The virus is airborne so it soon reaches out throughout the town and even further. Quarantines are in effect but some escape. The town tries hard to contain the virus but has a hard time dealing with the ever growing patients. The book narrates varying characters and the situations they are in. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I highly recommend it.
