Only A Breath Apart by Katie McGarry
Oh what a wonderful story! I just loved this book! The story follows Jesse, a young guy that is cursed or so his mother told him. It is said that their family is cursed in love and can never venture from the family's land. Jesse inherits his grandmother's farm but even though he loves the land, can he work the land enough to keep it. The story also follows Scarlett, a young girl that lives across the street from Jesse and used to be his best friend before their freshman year. Scarlett's dad is very abusive and her family lives in fear of him and his controlling ways. This book is about overcoming hardships, death, murder and abuse. But it is also about friendships, love and finding yourself. I highly recommend it.
