The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
WoW This book was so amazingly wonderful that it is going to be hard to not spoil it due to all the emotions it brought out of me. The story follows Xiomara and her life growing up in Harlem. She pours everything about who she is and what she feels into her journal. Writing such wonderfully honest poetry that her mother finds it against god. That is all I am going to say but I highly recommend this to everyone. For such a short read, it is full of artistry.
