The Smell of Other People's Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock

I love to read everything set in Alaska so when I heard all the hype about this book I knew I had to get it and I am not disappointed. What I really loved about this story was how it followed many different characters from different backgrounds and how they all came together to fit in this community. It is set in the 1970's and how most of the younger kids deal with their lives including poverty and how the elders remember when Alaska became the 49th state and how it affected their lives. It is definitely a must read and I highly recommend this book.
