The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
This book was written so well for addressing such serious issues and it was a fast and easy read but I must be honest the book was really not for me. The story follows Starr and how she was in the car with her friend as he was shot by police. It touched on what she went through emotionally trying to seek justice for him. Many other things were going on in the story including a drug dealer that was terrorizing the neighborhood. I think this is the reason why the book was really not for me. I try to stay away from books regarding drugs, alcohol and addictions. I would recommend this book to others that were interested in this subject.
