The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon

What an amazing story! So unique and creative! I loved it. The book starts with the curse. A young woman pregnant turned away by the father, a powerful and nasty chieftain. As she gives birth to her son Bayr, she knows she will die and curses the land to never produce girl offspring. Bayr grows up at the temple with his uncle and one day the chieftain declares his wife has gave birth to the first girl baby and he is crowned King. But things are not as they seem. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I highly recommend it. This book made it to my 2019 Favorites List.
