Heartwood Box by Ann Aguirre
WoW! I really enjoyed this book. So creative and unique! The story follows Aracili, a young girl that is sent to live with her Great Aunt for a year while her parents are working abroad. Aracili finds her new town strange as many people just disappear and are never found. She is warned to stay away from the woods and never follow the ghost lights. One day while cleaning out her Aunt's things, she stumbles across a wooden box that would forever change her life. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I highly recommend it.
