I can't say that I haven't done my research on H. H. Holmes in the past because I have but this book did reveal a few odds and ends that were new to me. The book kinda felt to me like two books in one. One being about the history surrounding the fair and the other of Holmes so if you are just interested in one or the other, best to find a not so comprehensive book. I thought the story was good but did wish to read more of the magical side of things with the fair.
