Pax

Stars 4/5
Pax by Sara Pennypacker

This book was about a young boy named Peter who was forced to give up his pet fox Pax by releasing him back into the wild. The story dives into, not only the mental and emotional hardships it caused between both Pete and Pax, but also the physical strains and how they forced them both to be stronger. A timeless tale that is great for all ages. I do hope one day to find out whatever became of Pax, Peter and Vola.

The Bear and The Nightingale

Stars 4/5
The Bear and The Nightingale by Katherine Arden

I love anything with Jack Frost and loved this magical Russian fairy tale rendition. I don't want to say anything to spoil the story but I am hoping for a love interest in the second book. I enjoyed how the book allowed the reader to grow up with the main characters. I feel closer to them that way. I will say that this book did make me hungry with them hungry most of the time but also the feasts, honey mead and warm breads. I can not wait for the next book. I am really wanting to continue on with Vasya's journey and hope to hear more about Morozko. I would recommend this book.
