Moby Dick by Herman Melville

Moby Dick was first published on 10/18/1851 so I had to read this book for the 2018 #Spookathon Of course, this is not the first time I have read Moby Dick but it has been a very long time ago and I felt it was time for me to revisit this seafarer's world. This story is far more than just an obsessed madman trying to kill a whale for revenge, it is a world of whales and whaling. The book goes into everything about sperm whales. How every part of the whale was used and how it was needed by consumers in that time period. Lots of things has changed regarding whaling, but this is a most interesting read that brings you back to 1851. This is a book that is a "Must Read" not only because it is a classic but it is an adventure that you will feel proud that you accomplished reading it. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Death On The Nile (Hercule Poirot #17) by Agatha Christie

This is the 17th book in the Hercule Poirot series and I read it for the #Spookathon 2018. I have to say that in this book, I guessed who the killer was before the end of the book YAY! I just loved this story. It follows Hercule Poirot while he was on his holiday in Egypt and of course where ever he goes death is soon to follow. I really loved the setting in this book, a boat on the Nile. Poirot finds out that a newly wed couple in on his trip and how upset they are because they are being stalked by his ex fiance and her ex best friend. I don't want to go into the story as to not spoil it but I highly recommend this book as well as the series to everyone who loves a "who done it".

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

Holy Moly! What a Book! This story reminded me of a very complex Agatha Christie novel and I just loved it. The story follows Aiden Bishop and he wakes up in another person's body and comes to find out that he has to solve the case on who wants to kill Evelyn Hardcastle. So each day he will wake up in a different body and try to gather clues on who wants her dead. 8 days to figure it out or he can not escape. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I highly recommend it to everyone who loves a "who done it". I read this book for #Spookathon 2018!

The Warden's Daughter by Jerry Spinelli

What a cute story. I just loved it. This book is set in the 1950's and it follows a little girl named Cammie who is the warden's daughter and lives in the Hancock County Prison. She likes to go into the yard and talk with the female prisoners as well as spending time with her friends. Cammie lost her mom when she was a baby and is in need for a mother's affection so she tries to find it in the trust prisoner that works in her home as the housekeeper. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but it is a sweet coming of age story and the ending is OMG. I highly recommend this book to everyone of all ages.

This was such an amazing read. I really enjoyed it! The story is about three girls that become obsessed with a story called The Way Into Lovelorn, which is a magical world, and one of them is found dead. Everyone believes that Mia and Brynn, the two surviving girls, were the killers and everyone in town hates them. Brynn becomes a recluse as her mom orders everything online and hoards it all and Mia checks herself in and out of rehab facilities. On the anniversary of Summer's death, Brynn decides to investigate, with Mia's help, what really happened the night Summer died. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it but I have to say that you will never guess "who did it". I highly recommend this to everyone that loves the twists and turns of a great mystery.

That's Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger

OH how I just loved this book! The story follows Lee and other survivors after a school shooting massacre. Lee's friend Sarah was one killed in the shooting and it comes out that Sarah stood up to the shooter regarding her faith in God and became a martyr but it is not true and Lee needs to set things straight even if it will cost her and her family everything as it did when Kellie, the real girl who stood up to the shooter, tried to tell them the truth. This is a very unique and creative story and I highly recommend it to everyone.
